Summer school on Cryptography

This summer school on cryptography offers undergraduate and graduate students and researchers the opportunity to crypt a bit. It provides acquaintance and interaction in an intellectually stimulating and informal atmosphere in pleasant surroundings.

Description

The one-week summer school crypt@b-it 2012 takes place 16-20 July 2012 in the b-it building. It will explore some areas of cryptography:

Valtteri Niemi, Mobile Phone Security and Privacy.
Dennis Hofheinz, Formal Arguments for Cryptographic Security.

In addition, there will be tutorials and hands-on exercises on topics somewhat related to the lectures, including an exhibit of an actual Enigma machine. The intended audience are undergraduate and graduate students as well as postdocs and researchers who work in the area or at least have a basic knowledge.

Registration

The registration fee for the event is 100€ for students (please send a certificate of study from your university) and 500€ for others. This amount includes daily refreshments, lunch, and the excursion.

The registration is open until 4 June 2012.

The number of participants is limited. If you want to participate, please register before Monday 4 June 2012, using the registration form. The e-mail address you give cannot be changed later. (If you have registered before, you can use the same password from last time! To recover it, use the link next to the golden key on the left corner of the webpage: New Password?...)

The registration will be complete by the time you recieve an e-mail with "[crypt@b-it 2012] Confirmation successfull". The number of participants is limited. After the registration deadline no refunds will be made.

We have a contingent of rooms reserved for you until 22 June 2012.

There are 4 Double rooms (with bunk bed) at the Jugendherberge. These have to be booked in pairs.

You can also find Triple rooms both at Hotel Rheinland Bad Godesberg as well as at Hotel Europa. Again, to book such rooms, you need to form a group first.
