The drivers of research at industry are different from those at the universities. Where universities have high degrees of freedom to choose their topics, the industrial research is mostly motivated by the real time applications which fit into the business of the organizations. This limitation, at one hand, faces the researchers with challenges to narrow their research interests, but on the other hand, enables them to bring the results of their work into real products.
At this talk, we mention some types of research activities which are done at industrial research and briefly review two results of such activities in the domains of safety and security.
