Resource-Efficient Hardware-Software-Combinations for Elliptic Curve Cryptography

Nowadays, cryptography is a vital issue to everyone, who wants to exchange confidential information electronically. In the area of public key schemes, elliptic curve cryptography gained increasing popularity over the last years. In this talk I will present different hardware-software-combinations for elliptic curve cryptography, which are based on a hierarchical multiprocessor system-on-chip architecture. A holistic methodology for automated evaluation and integration of hardware accelerators will be presented that was used to optimize the resource efficiency for two exemplary application scenarios.
