Corresponding entry in Aachen Campus, Bonn Basis.
Lecture
Time & Place
- Thursday 1000 - 1200, b-it 1.25.
First meeting: Thursday, 28 October 2010, 1000, b-it 1.25.
Prerequisites
Basic knowledge of cryptography and fast understanding of mathematical and computer science topics is required.
Contents
The topic is not yet determined. Previous instantiations dealt with Fuzzy Coding Theory, Zero-Knowledge, PCP, Ellitpic Curve Theory, ... In any case the topic will try to dig deeper than what you expect in a standard course or seminar.
Well, this semester we decided to focus on...
Mobile Communication Standards.

Literature
Sources for mobile standards are
- the ETSI documentation service. You may have to register but then downloads are free.
- 3GPP: Relevant standards.
- 3GPP2.
- ITU,
- GSM, UMTS and LTE security specifications.
All of these also care for LTE (long term evolution) or 3.9G, as well as 4G.
Some sources on voice transmission:
- VoiceAge (2008). Audio samples in different codec formats.Webpage.
- Martin Sauter (2004). Deep Inside the Network: TFO and TrFO. Blog.
- Tellabs (2008). 3GPP and 3GPP2 Packet-Based Voice Transport Technologies and Packet-Based Voice Quality Enhancement Technology. White paper.
