Contents
Mobile systems have to meet many security requirements such as confidentiality, integrity, authentication, non repudiation, user protection ... They have also to cope with the new arising challenges like open environment, physical constraints (battery capacity, data storage capacity..), computing performance (data throughput..)...
The course will focus on one particular standard for mobile systems: Bluetooth. It will then give an overview of the underlying technology, studies its security properties and gives possible improvements in order to counter measure some attacks.
The second part of the course is dedicated to stream ciphers, an important class of algorithms that achieve the already mentioned requirements. This part includes the study and implementation of LFSRs, important components in many stream ciphers, it also covers the presentation and implementation of some well known LFSR-based stream ciphers as well as attacks on them.
