I will give an insight to my diploma thesis project which deals with Java based encrypted communication using arbitrary cell phones. Unlike usual encrypted communications via the internet the data volume (i.e. during key exchange) becomes a serious issue in this field. These issues will be discussed and a current prototype allowing for secure SMS will be presented.
