Contents
The increasing use of mobile devices (in particular smart phones) over the last decade requires additional security considerations. Due to the lack of physical security, the air interface is prone to attacks.
In this seminar we will look at security issues in mobile networks and we will see attacks and countermeasures. The following topics will be discussed in the seminar:
- History and architectures of mobile networks
- GSM security: Cryptanalysis of A5/1
- Security of the UMTS network-MILENAGE
- SIM cards
- Location based services
- Near field communication
- RFID security
- Denial of Service attacks on GSM and UMTS
- IMSI Catcher
- Viruses, worms and Trojans on mobile phones
- Security of Android
- Security of iPhone OS
- Car2X security
- Trusted mobile platforms
- Mobile phone forensics (Source Identification)
- LTE(Long Term Evolution)
- WLAN:Breaking WEP
- WLAN: WPA and WPA2 security
- Security of sensor networks
- Bluetooth security
- Security of wireless ad hoc networks/Wireless Mesh Network Security
Feel free to propose additional topics related to mobile security.
